U.S. riots and riot deaths

number, 1850–2010

Info Edit

A riot is defined as any group of twelve or more people attempting to assert their will immediately through the use of force outside the normal bounds of law. Furthermore, a riot is defined by group-on-group violence (proper riots) as opposed to group-on-individual violence (termed lynchings). This database only includes riots that actually led to at least one death.
