Data was gathered from newly compiled census observations and information on the year of establishment of the oldest school in individual countries. Data is expressed as a percent, given by the mean number of female years of schooling divided by the mean number of male years of schooling. A score of 100% indicates parity, while a score less than 100% indicates that males receive greater schooling than females.
