Maternal abortion, miscarriage, and ectopic pregnancy includes ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy in which the fetus develops outside the uterus, typically in a Fallopian tube) and maternal abortive outcome (either abortion (pregnancy termination prior to 20 weeks’ gestation or a fetus born weighing less than 500 g) or miscarriage (spontaneous abortion and pregnancy loss, is the natural death of an embryo or fetus before it is able to survive independently)).
