Info Edit

Gini index measures the extent to which the distribution of income among individuals or households within an economy deviates from a perfectly equal distribution. This dataset represents the average of nine different Gini coefficients in order to create a single standardized Gini variable. These nine sources are the following: Luxembourg Income Study, Socio-Economic Database for Latin America and the Caribbean, Survey of Income and Living Condition, World Bank’s Eastern Europe and Central Asia, World Income Distribution, POVCAL, World Institute for Development Research WIDER, CEPAL, and other Individual data sets.
